Compromise by Supyloco Compromise by Supyloco
Something people don't seem to realize. As long as we keep fighting whether you are Democrat, Republican, Liberal, Conservative, Progressive, Moderate, or Libertarian. This country will get worse. Not everybody will get what they want so thatís why we have to compromise. Divided we are weak but together we are strong.

I don't think the Conservative definition of Compromise matches the Liberal/Moderate/Dictionary definition...

Compromise is not a bad thing, we should have learned that in kindergarden

Right. But that doesn't mean all compromise is good. Sometimes they can compromise to do evil or screwing you.

Indeed, life is balance and trying to find when to be rigid and when to be flexible. There's no cure all answer.

Never compromise your principles for the lull of a false peace. If you don't take a solid stand for something, you'll fall for anything.

But we're talking about disagreements.

I agree. Either side it's all about what they want. Never about the country. That's why I actually like Obama. He's one of the few willing to compromise.
Our founding fathers had to make compromises too

I agree. These days all politicians seem to focus on is keeping their party in power.

And nobody listened to George Washington when he said having political parties would divide us.

Exactly! It seems like no one knows what his political stance was! It's just at the point where elections are ridiculous. Half of political campaigning is mudslinging. We'd be so much more productive without political parties.

Yeah because telling me in different ads how much the other politician sucks. Yeah that does not convince who's good. It tells me you both suck. And George Washington had a hard time as president hearing Hamilton and Jefferson bitch at each other.

Yeah. It's really disturbing to think Jefferson and Hamilton's clashing political views (and sheer enmity) is the reason we have our awful parties now. (Granted, Hamilton was a Federalist and Republicans then were nothing like Republicans today, but you get it.) It was all somewhat in vain too. Hamilton wasn't born on American soil. It would have been illegal for him to run for president in the first place.

Jefferson was Democratic-Republican. They are what is now the modern Democratic party. So Tom was a Democrat. Although I believe Hamilton to be the greatest Villain in American History for getting us into debt thanks to the idea of a central bank. Now we have a total debt of $55 Trillion.

Hamilton, really? I believe Andrew Jackson to be the greatest villain in our history. I agree that the idea of a central bank was somewhat shortsighted, but it might have had some effect on the unification of the former colonies. I think it's more that the people in power never bothered to fix the issues with a central bank. Or never did it efficiently anyway.

It was not efficient due to the fact that even to this day. We don't have a budget. And I get what you're saying about Jackson. But At least he got us out of debt and he got rid of the banks. That was until people brought them back.
