Atheism doesn't by Supyloco Atheism doesn't by Supyloco
I've been getting this a lot with both Atheists and the religious since they seem to misunderstand. So no I'm not an Atheist. But here's my case since I have many Atheist friends. So we look at a lot of people who are non-Atheists who say that Atheists are immoral. Well here's my response. I wouldn't say that since I've met a lot of good people who are Atheists and like I said I have friends. These people were among the nicest of people and treated me well. And they know right from wrong. But then Atheists also make this mistake. The idea behind this misconception, at least from my opinion. Is that since Atheists don't set a dogmatic standards towards themselves when it comes to morality. They don't say talk about sexuality like if it were something wrong. It just depends on the individual and how they put things. You can be moral with or without religion. I mean obviously we've seen immoral religious people. So there you go.

The Christian Argument:
Maybe if we introduce the Bible into schools, not as many crimes will be committed

The Atheists:
Maybe, if we stop being such hateful people and learn morals without a 2,000 year-old book having to tell us to, not as many crimes would be committed

Well I don't like continuing conversations if they have nothing else to say. If you do want to talk send me a note or comment on my profile.

The positions "If we legalize X, then society will go to hell" or "X threatens the fundaments of all morality" are quite common. When talking with theists, X may be condoms, homosexuality or adultery, to name just a few. But many atheists hold these views as well, only that they replace X with drugs, violent computer games or internet freedom (of course there are also atheist gay-haters and theist wanna-be censors, and not too few).

I have met people who say you cannot be moral without God, and I have met people who say that you cannot be moral with guns. They share exactly the same mindset: not looking for empirical truth, but instead beginning with a delusion in the first place and only looking for information that strengthens their prejudices. That is not a misunderstanding. That is willful ignorance. And it is only a mistake if these people regret it. If they find satisfaction in their simple worldview and clear concepts of the enemy, then it is actually rewarding to them.

Basically. But this much about morality than anything else. Of course don't make assumptions on either side because both sides of the spectrum don't even get themselves.

Many people do. For a while I didn't know what I was religiously until most recently when I converted to Deism. And look I'm against any state belief whether it's religious or Atheist because they always lead to bad things. The problem with some Atheists states like the Soviet Union was that their goal was to eliminate religious freedom and force Atheism because they thought that having religion would give people the idea to not work for today and instead focusing on the afterlife. It's a fair idea but the way it was handled was not very well done. But the blame goes to both. If you really believe in such a heaven then you have to do the right thing and work for the overall good. But these guys were idiots basically. I think that's why government should be secular in order to protect the people from the government abusing them religiously and it also protects the government from the religious since the whole point is not to favor a religious belief.

Yeah I get that a lot since many Theists think secular government is evil. If the US is to follow the constitution thne it needs to be secular.

exactly, it's defined in the fucking first amendment, it's called separation of church and state! the freedom to your own beliefs, opinions, thoughts and such. up here in Canada it's different, I'm just worried about the US's future because they seem to affect the world around them.

Yeah I'm worried of the state of the empire. Look I don't really criticize other nations when it comes to state beliefs because I won't assume they have the same laws. But here the government shouldn't have a state belief. And it's funny how the Right-Wing complains about Sharia controlling our government when they're trying to install Dominionism.

If there is a God, not that I'm saying there isn't, he or she (or they or it) would want us to live our life as our own...

Thaaaanks!!!!Really thanks, i'm sick of peoples that think i'm bad person because i don't believe in a god.
Also, we don't mean to be disrespectfull at someone because he believe in a god.We may don't understand what it feel to have faith for a god, but we can respect that if it's important for someone :/

a good person will be a good christian and a good atheist alike. And a bad atheist will fear a lifetime punishment if he's an evil prick and the christian will try to justify his actions thru bs bible interpretations both side has each and plenty of em
